Released for the Game Boy Advance in Japan in 2006, Rhythm Tengoku is a music game developed by Nintendo SPD Production Group No. 1, the same studio behind the WarioWare series. It blends mini-game structure with rhythm gameplay across eight stages, each containing five distinct rhythm mini-games and one remix stage that combines the preceding five, totaling 48 mini-games overall. The scenarios range widely in theme and visual style, and the game's audio quality stands out as notably high for the hardware. Completing stages does not require perfect execution, though flawless performances unlock bonus content, including additional rhythm-based modes. A built-in drum feature offers a free-play drum set and 19 structured lessons. Gameplay relies heavily on visual and audio cues rather than text, making much of the content accessible despite the game releasing exclusively in Japanese. Occasional challenge stages ask players to clear a level without errors, rewarding success with a certificate.
