Rise 2: Resurrection is a 2D robot fighting game developed by Mirage Technologies and released in 1996 for DOS, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation. A sequel to Rise of Robots, it features a roster of 18 mechanized combatants, each portrayed as a cold, brutal machine driven solely to destroy its opponent. Combat draws on dozens of combo chains and finishing moves within a dark, stylized aesthetic that sets it apart from more conventional entries in the genre. The game ships with improved graphics over its predecessor and an original soundtrack composed by Queen guitarist Brian May. Multiple game modes, fully customizable options, and hidden content extend replayability beyond the core bouts. Controls are designed to be accessible and responsive, supporting the fluid pacing of its 2D fight system. The overall package positions Rise 2 as a notably darker and more polished effort than the original game.
