Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut is a 2D arcade shooter developed by Tikipod, released in 2014 for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Set in an alternate-history 1880s, the game casts a young Queen Victoria as its protagonist, navigating a Martian landscape in a bid to escape back to Earth. Gameplay blends top-down and side-scrolling perspectives with eight-directional shooting across levels populated by soldiers, zombies, giant bugs, and tanks. The presentation deliberately emulates 8-bit hardware aesthetics, offering a choice between NES and ZX Spectrum visual styles, complete with authentic loading sounds and border art, while modernizing the format with widescreen layouts and HD rendering. Collectible weapons include Coal Rockets and Steam Lasers. Hidden snacks scattered throughout levels unlock several bonus arcade mini-games. Online leaderboards and achievements are also included.
