Rogue Piñatas: VRmageddon is a VR shooter and beat 'em up developed by Nerd Ninjas, released in 2025 for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and SteamVR. The premise centers on a birthday party gone catastrophically wrong, unleashing endless waves of hostile piñatas on the world. Players choose from six distinct characters — Kit Bash, Roxy Riot, Paparoni, Mamagyver, Lt. Gran, or Max Magnifique — and work through stage-based combat either solo or in online multiplayer. The arsenal spans 20 melee and ranged weapons, which can be modified using more than 18 gadgets to produce evolved weapon variants with new properties. Six or more oversized boss enemies, including a creature called the OctoCat, serve as major combat challenges throughout. Each stage also contains hidden secrets discoverable through careful exploration and attentive listening. The roguelite structure ties these systems together into a progression loop built around surviving escalating piñata swarms.
