Rogue State is a geopolitical strategy and simulation game developed by LRDGames, Inc. and released in 2015 for PC. Players take the role of a newly installed head of state in the fictional People's Republic of Basenji, a Middle Eastern nation emerging from a revolution that toppled a corrupt monarchy. The core challenge involves balancing the competing demands of four domestic factions — fundamentalists, capitalists, patriots, and liberals — while managing foreign relations with up to eight neighboring countries and navigating the scrutiny of global powers. A treacherous brother named Farouk adds a persistent internal threat. Decisions range from building diplomatic alliances and developing trade to conducting covert operations, assassinating rivals, or pursuing nuclear weapons. Cabinet management, over thirty purchasable state upgrades, six clandestine projects, and hundreds of randomly generated events ensure high replayability. The game features extensive spoken dialogue, a choice of gender for the protagonist, and comic-style artwork inspired by French artist Jean "Moebius" Giraud.
