Rygar: The Legendary Adventure is a 3D hack-and-slash action game developed by Team Tachyon and released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, with a later Wii version. A sequel to Tecmo's earlier arcade and home-system title, it follows Rygar, a young gladiator in training, through the mythological land of Argos. When Princess Harmonia is abducted by the Titans — a faction led by the ancient gods Cleopatra and a winged demon named Aristotle — Rygar sets out to rescue her and prevent the resurrection of the evil spirit Cronus. The primary weapon and traversal tool is the Diskarmor, a legendary chained disc that grows more powerful as the player progresses. Combat involves battling enemies and large demonic bosses across Argos, while exploration yields items and information that advance the search for the princess and build toward a final confrontation with Cleopatra and Aristotle.
