Scramble is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed by Konami and released in arcades in 1981, later ported to the Vectrex and Xbox 360. The player pilots a jet aircraft through six continuously scrolling stages, each featuring distinct terrain layouts and enemy configurations. The craft carries two independently controlled weapons — a forward-firing gun and bombs — which must be used against obstacles and ground targets alike. A persistent fuel mechanic adds pressure to each run: fuel depletes steadily over time and can only be replenished by destroying fuel tanks scattered across the stages. Colliding with terrain or enemies ends the run immediately. The six sections transition seamlessly without interruption, culminating in a final stage where the player must destroy a base to complete a mission. Upon doing so, the game loops back to the first section at a higher difficulty. Points accumulate based on survival time and enemies destroyed.
