SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an action RPG developed by Artdink, released in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game is set in G: Universe, a distorted reality where established events from across Gundam continuity have been corrupted by anomalies called Breaks. Players lead a three-unit squadron of Mobile Suits and pilots drawn from more than two dozen Gundam series — ranging from the original Mobile Suit Gundam through Iron-Blooded Orphans — with the goal of restoring history to its proper course. Combat emphasizes combo-driven action using a wide variety of Mobile Suit weaponry, with units rendered in SD style featuring weathering details intended to convey their nature as machines of war. Between missions, players collect Capital and expansion parts to customize and upgrade their chosen Mobile Suits. The campaign supports cooperative multiplayer for up to three players simultaneously, and can also be completed solo.
The story takes place in G: Universe, a world where Gundam canon twists and turns in ways no one can predict. To correct this world’s distorted history, the player leads a 3-unit squadron consisting of Mobile Suits and pilots from across Gundam history – a true Battle Alliance.
