Sengoku Turb is an action RPG developed by Atypical Alchemists Associate and released for the Dreamcast in 1999. The game is an adaptation of an earlier PC-98 shareware title of the same name, bringing its gameplay to Sega's console hardware. Set within a framework rooted in the Sengoku period aesthetic suggested by its title, the game carries forward the core role-playing and action elements established in the original shareware release. As one of the relatively niche RPG offerings on the Dreamcast, it represents a transition of a PC-98 era project into a dedicated console format, a path taken by several Japanese titles of that generation. Little widely documented detail exists beyond its origins, but its lineage as a shareware-to-console adaptation marks it as a modest yet notable entry in the Dreamcast's Japanese RPG library.
Sengoku Turb is a bizarre Dreamcast action-RPG, that takes place on the far away planet of Raiyon. Despite the colorful landscape, it’s actually in a constant state of war against the two major citizens: cats and sheep (“sengoku” means “warring states”, which refers to this conflict). As a young woman named Jino, an outsider who stumbled onto this planet, you end up allying yourself with the felines to help quell the accursed sheep menace.
