Shadow Fencer Theatre is an awkward-physics sword-fighting game developed by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun and released in 2019 for PC (Microsoft Windows) and Xbox One. Set in a shadow puppet theater, the game pits a cast of over 16 handcrafted characters — including robots, giraffes, and pirates — against one another across eight distinct stages rendered in paper-cutout silhouette style. Combat emphasizes flailing, physics-driven swordplay rather than precision, lending matches an inherently chaotic quality. The game supports both solo and local multiplayer, with several modes available: a Story mode centered on keeping a struggling puppet theater afloat, a Marathon mode that challenges solo players to become Grandmaster, a customizable Improv mode for one or two players, and a Skits mode containing more than a dozen mini-games drawn from a vaudeville-style variety format. An original soundtrack composed specifically for the game accompanies all modes.
