Shantae: Half-Genie Hero – Friends to the End is a 2017 platformer and adventure game developed by WayForward Technologies, released as the concluding chapter of the Shantae: Half-Genie Hero storyline. Available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the DLC shifts the focus away from Shantae herself, who has been overtaken by dark magic and trapped in a Nightmare Realm of her own imagination. Players instead control three of her companions — Sky, Bolo, and Rottytops — each with distinct abilities: Sky throws eggs, Bolo wields a grapple claw, and Rottytops can consume enemies with a brain-munching attack. The trio works through remixed versions of existing stages alongside entirely new challenge levels, tackling puzzles and enemies in pursuit of rescuing the half-genie hero.
