Shinobido: Way of the Ninja is an action-adventure game developed by ACQUIRE Corp., released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2. Set in 16th-century Japan, the game takes place in the province of Utakata, a once-stable region thrown into turmoil after the near-total destruction of its elite ninja protectors, the Asuka clan. Players control the clan's last surviving member, navigating a deteriorating political landscape on the brink of war while seeking revenge and shaping the province's future. Missions can be approached through stealth or direct combat, and a crafting system allows players to combine equipment into more than 150 distinct weapons and items. The game also features a connectivity feature with the PSP title Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja, enabling players to create and transfer custom maps and missions between the two versions.
