Ships 2017 is a naval simulation title developed for PC and released in 2016, placing players in command of three specialized vessels operating across the Baltic Sea. The game features 24 missions spanning a range of maritime operations, including recovering objects from the seafloor, transporting heavy cargo, assembling large offshore installations, and conducting search-and-rescue operations. A crew management mode allows direct control of individual sailors and their equipment — fire extinguishers, hoses, water cannons, inflatable craft, and searchlights — which becomes critical during scenarios involving pirate attacks or onboard fires. Earned currency can be spent acquiring and repairing additional vessels, among them a deepwater construction ship, semi-submersible transport vessels, and what the game describes as the world's largest container ship. A physics-based water system contributes to the simulation's visual and mechanical presentation.
