Released in 2014 for PlayStation 3, Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day is a fast-paced 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Crispy's and directed by Goichi Suda (Suda51) of Grasshopper Manufacture. The game serves as a companion piece to Katsuhiro Otomo's Short Peace anime anthology, presenting an original storyline rendered through psychedelic visuals and animated cutscenes. The protagonist, Ranko Tsukigime, leads a double life — an ordinary high school student by day and a skilled assassin by night. When a demonic organization threatens her and those close to her during one of her missions, the situation spirals into a desperate flight for survival. Gameplay centers on rapid, reflex-driven movement through obstacle-laden environments, with players constantly fleeing a menacing pursuer while navigating hazardous stages. The emphasis is on speed and split-second decision-making throughout each level.
