SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs is a tactical third-person shooter developed by Zipper Interactive for the PlayStation 2, released in 2005. The game continues the series' focus on military operations across both urban and rural environments, adding three new areas of operation — Morocco, Poland, and Bangladesh. Maps are substantially larger than those in the previous entry, expanding to five or six times the prior scale. Players can operate a variety of vehicles, as can AI teammates, and a new Tactical Command Architecture system enables rapid command input during missions. Weapon customization covers 30 firearms with various attachments. Multiple save points ease progression through the single-player campaign. Online multiplayer supports up to 32 players, a notable expansion over earlier installments in the series.
