SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs is a tactical third-person shooter developed by Zipper Interactive and released for PlayStation 3 in 2011, continuing Sony's long-running squad-based series. Players command a five-person unit across fourteen single-player missions set over a six-day campaign in Southeast Asia, tasked with neutralizing those responsible for the destruction of a NATO Special Forces team. A context-based command system allows players to direct squadmates, while UAV surveillance drones and aerial strikes serve as available support options. Enemy AI is designed to employ realistic squad tactics that adapt to battlefield decisions. Cover mechanics are central to survival, and players can scavenge weapons from defeated enemies to expand their arsenal. Beyond the campaign, the game includes both competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes. Control options support the PlayStation Move motion controller alongside the standard DualShock gamepad.
