Sonic Mega Collection Plus is a 2004 platformer compilation developed by Sonic Team for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. An expanded version of the earlier Sonic Mega Collection, it brings together the full roster of Sega Genesis titles from that release — including two Genesis games previously exclusive to the Japanese edition — alongside six Game Gear titles added for this version. The result is a broader retrospective of classic Sonic the Hedgehog games than any prior regional release of the collection offered. The PC version was distributed in both Europe and North America, matching the console releases in content. The compilation serves as a straightforward archive of Sonic's 16-bit and handheld-era output, with no new original content beyond the expanded game library inherited and built upon from its predecessor.
