Sonic Rush Adventure is a 2007 platform game developed by Sonic Team for the Nintendo DS. A follow-up to Sonic Rush, it retains the series' fast-paced 2D gameplay spread across the handheld's dual screens while introducing a maritime setting built around exploration. The story centers on Sonic venturing out from Windmill Village to investigate seven islands, where he faces a crew of pirates. Progression involves collecting materials and items scattered across a large overworld map, which Tails uses to construct different vessels that expand Sonic's travel options between locations.
