Soulcalibur: Lost Swords is a free-to-play weapon-based fighting game developed by Project Soul and released in 2014 exclusively for PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network. Built on the foundation of Soulcalibur V, it retains the series' signature weapon combat system while simplifying or removing several mechanics from earlier entries. Following a model similar to Tekken Revolution, the game incorporates microtransactions, including options to lift an imposed playtime limit. Content was expanded on an ongoing basis through periodic updates that introduced new events, items, and characters.
