Sound Shapes is a music-driven 2D platformer developed by Queasy Games, released in 2012 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and later PlayStation 4. The game blends platforming and music creation, with the player's movements and interactions directly generating the soundtrack as they progress through levels. The campaign combines original artwork from studios including Pixeljam, Capy, and Superbrothers with music contributed by artists such as Jim Guthrie, I Am Robot and Proud, and Deadmau5. Beyond the main campaign, the game includes a level editor that allows players to construct their own musical stages using assets from the campaign, then upload and share them with other players. This creates an ongoing library of community-built content accessible both at home and portably via the Vita. The result functions simultaneously as a playable game and a compositional tool.
