Spider-Man: Edge of Time is a platform-adventure game developed by Beenox and released in 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A follow-up to Shattered Dimensions, it again features two incarnations of the web-slinger: the classic Amazing Spider-Man and the futuristic Spider-Man 2099. The central conflict involves a villain named Walker Sloan, who plots from the year 2099 to reshape the past according to his own design, with consequences that ripple across both heroes' timelines. Spider-Man 2099 serves as the character with full awareness of these temporal shifts, while Amazing Spider-Man begins the game on the brink of death, dependent on his future counterpart's intervention. Gameplay alternates evenly between the two characters, with missions structured so that the actions of each Spider-Man directly influence the other's storyline. Anti-Venom also factors into the time-spanning narrative.
