Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is an action-adventure game developed by Next Level Games, released in 2007 for Wii and PlayStation 2. Drawing inspiration from the Spider-Man film trilogy, it reinterprets moments and battles from the movies with a comedic sensibility. The core loop involves defeating iconic villains — including Venom, Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus — then recruiting them as playable sidekicks. Stages take place across a range of international locations, among them Tokyo, Egypt, and Nepal. A cooperative multiplayer mode allows a second player to control Spider-Man or one of the acquired sidekicks alongside the primary player. Chapters can be replayed with different sidekick combinations, adding some variety to the progression, and Black-Suited Spider-Man becomes available as an unlockable playable character later in the game.
