Spinch is a psychedelic platformer developed by Queen Bee Games and released in 2020 for PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. Players control Spinch, a hyper-agile organism navigating a surreal ecology across six vibrant worlds in pursuit of missing offspring abducted by a parade of grotesque, misshapen enemies. Movement options include dashing, dodging, climbing, swimming, jumping, and launching babies as projectiles, all of which must be deployed with precise timing against six enigmatic bosses and dense obstacle arrangements. The game embraces old-school difficulty through repeated section attempts and reflex mastery, though a checkpoint-and-timer system with no lives or game-over screens keeps it broadly accessible while still presenting serious challenges for speedrunners. The distinctive visual identity comes from Canadian cartoonist Jesse Jacobs, whose detailed linework and bold color palettes carry themes of psychedelia and nature-technology fusion. The electronic and retro-inflected soundtrack was composed by avant-garde hip-hop artist James Kirkpatrick, performing as Thesis Sahib.
