American Wilds is an expansion for Spintires: MudRunner, an off-road driving simulator developed for PC via Steam. The add-on requires the base game to function and extends it with nine licensed American trucks from manufacturers including Ford, Hummer, and Chevrolet. Alongside the new vehicles, it introduces a range of additional vehicle attachments and accessories. Two open sandbox maps inspired by the terrain of Montana and North Dakota broaden the exploration options, reflecting the rugged landscapes characteristic of those regions. A further two challenge maps provide more structured off-road objectives. The expansion focuses on the same core MudRunner experience of navigating difficult, muddy terrain while broadening the roster of American machinery and the variety of environments available to players.
