Released in 1995 by Totally Games for DOS and Mac, Star Wars: TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM is an expanded edition of the original space combat simulator in which players pilot Imperial starfighters across a series of tactical missions. This version introduces optional SVGA graphics that raise the resolution from 320×200 to 640×480, alongside improved cinematic cutscenes and extensive voice acting not present in the original release. The package bundles two expansion campaigns — the previously released Defender of the Empire and the newly added Enemies of the Empire — substantially extending the base game's content. Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9 compatibility was also introduced with this edition, broadening the game's platform reach beyond its original DOS audience.
