Starsky & Hutch is an arcade racing game developed by Mind's Eye, released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PC, tying in with the feature film adaptation of the 1970s television series. The game is structured around 18 missions, each drawing from an episode of the original show and introduced by Antonio "Huggy Bear" Fargas. A free-roam mode also lets players explore an open environment in the style of sandbox driving games. The central framing conceit casts Starsky and Hutch as participants in a TV production, meaning mission scoring is tied to viewer ratings rather than conventional racing metrics. Spectacular jumps, skids, close calls with civilians, and direct hits on enemy vehicles attract viewers, while actually striking civilians costs them. Performance is graded with gold, silver, or bronze medals, and earning sufficient high scores across the first two seasons unlocks a third. The primary objective in most missions is to pursue and destroy a target vehicle, alongside secondary goals.
