The Outsider is the first downloadable content pack for SteamWorld Heist, the turn-based strategy RPG developed by Image & Form, released in 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, PC, Mac, and Linux. The expansion introduces a new playable character whose enigmatic backstory becomes central to the added content. Captain Piper encounters this mysterious figure, and players can explore a set of new missions built around uncovering the outsider's identity. The pack also brings additional weapons, gear, and a collection of hats. All new content is designed to integrate naturally with the base game, meaning players can either start a new playthrough or load an existing save file and access the new character and story material without significant delay. The expansion follows the same tactical, turn-based structure as the main game.
