Strikers 1945 is a vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up developed by Psikyo, originally released in arcades in 1995 and later made available on platforms including Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and modern systems such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android. Set in the aftermath of World War II, the game follows an elite squadron of pilots known as the Strikers, tasked with dismantling CANY, a rogue global military organization wielding advanced weapons including mechanical walkers and rockets. Players choose from six distinct WWII-era fighter aircraft, each with unique characteristics, and battle through stages where enemy bosses transform from conventional warships and tanks into futuristic mechs. Gameplay involves collecting power-up items to strengthen weapons, acquiring bombs to clear enemy fire, and executing formation attacks. Difficulty, lives, continues, and screen orientation are all configurable, and the game includes local rankings, a Score Attack mode with fixed parameters, and online leaderboards.
