Stronghold: Crusader Extreme is a real-time strategy and castle simulation game developed by Firefly Studios, released for PC in 2008. An expanded revision of the 2002 title Stronghold: Crusader, it is set in the Middle East during the Crusades era and tasks players with building and managing fortifications while commanding medieval armies in combat. The most significant addition over the original is support for armies of up to 10,000 soldiers, alongside new buildings and missions organized into an Extreme Crusader Trail campaign. The package also bundles a revised version of the original Stronghold: Crusader, preserving most of its content, though features such as outposts and god powers are exclusive to the Extreme portion unless an official HD patch is applied, which restores outpost construction to the base game's maps.
