Struggling is a physics-based cooperative platformer developed by Chasing Rats Games and released in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players control a grotesque, two-headed creature by manipulating each of its arms independently, latching onto environmental objects ranging from levers to dangling eyeballs to propel the body forward. The game is designed around a two-player mode in which each participant governs one arm, meaning even basic locomotion demands coordination and communication between partners. Across a deranged world filled with absurd hazards, the creature crawls, swings, and clambers through encounters that include outrunning rats, riding a dirt bike, and navigating pools of waste. The central challenge is overcoming physics-based obstacles as a pair; arms can be torn off during mishaps but regenerate. The overall journey leads toward confrontations with so-called abomination gods whose blessings serve as the narrative goal.
