Released by Epyx in 1985 for the Commodore C64/128/MAX and later Wii, Summer Games II is a multi-event sports title supporting one to eight players competing across eight Olympic-style disciplines. Events include cycling, fencing, kayaking, the triple jump, rowing, the high jump, javelin, and equestrian, with several offering direct head-to-head competition rather than simple time or distance trials. Players first select from 18 represented nations, then contest individual events or enter a full grand competition. A practice mode allows participants to prepare before committing to scored runs. The game frames its competition around strategy and technique alongside raw speed, positioning each event as a distinct skill challenge. Ceremonial presentation — opening and closing ceremonies, an awards podium, and national anthems — reinforces the Olympic structure throughout. Players can compete against one another or against the computer.
