Zubmariner is a 2016 expansion to Sunless Sea, developed by Failbetter Games and available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Set in the gothic, nautical world of Fallen London and the Neath, the expansion allows players to convert their vessel into a submarine and descend beneath the Zee, uncovering a hidden layer of the game's world that official powers insist holds nothing of consequence. Eleven new undersea ports — including Dahut, Wrack, and Anthe — each carry their own stories, factions, and peculiar customs. Players loot shipwrecks from the zee-bed, contend with new enemies such as the Wreckship and the Constant Companion, navigate hostile witherweed, and pursue a new ambition centered on immortality by tracking down the Seven Against Nidah. The expansion deepens the base game's resource management and narrative-driven structure while amplifying its signature pressures: sanity erodes faster, and death arrives more readily.
