Developed by Arika and released in 2020 for Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Bros. 35 is an online competitive platformer that pits 35 players simultaneously against one another in a battle-royale take on the original Super Mario Bros. Each participant navigates the same timed stage, working through classic side-scrolling gameplay while racing to outlast the other competitors. Defeating enemies extends the player's remaining time and sends those enemies into opponents' stages as added obstacles, introducing a layer of sabotage alongside the traditional platforming. Coins collected during a run can be exchanged for in-game items and power-ups, giving players a resource-management dimension on top of the speed and precision the core gameplay demands. The goal is straightforward: survive longer than all 34 other players to be the last Mario standing.
