Super Star Wars is a 1992 action-adventure game developed by Sculptured Software, originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and later made available on additional platforms including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Based on the events of the first Star Wars film, the game follows Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca as they battle Imperial forces and hostile alien enemies across locations ranging from the Tatooine wastelands to the streets of Mos Eisley. Players progress through side-scrolling combat sequences using blasters and a lightsaber, while two dedicated vehicle stages shift the perspective to high-speed, first-person 3D gameplay. The combination of character-based platforming and vehicle sequences gave the title a varied structure that distinguished it from straightforward licensed adaptations of the era.
