Superbeat: Xonic is a rhythm arcade game developed by Nurijoy — a studio founded by former Pentavision staff — and released in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Considered a spiritual successor to the DJMax series, it adapts the mechanics of Nurijoy's 2014 arcade title Beatcraft Cyclon into a console format. Core gameplay involves hitting notes in time with music, using either face buttons or the Vita's touchscreen depending on the platform. Three difficulty-tiered modes are available — 4 TRAX, 6 TRAX, and 6 TRAX FX — each structured so that players complete three consecutive tracks before receiving an overall performance evaluation. Scores can be submitted to global online leaderboards. The soundtrack comprises more than 50 tracks spanning house, R&B, indie pop, progressive metal, and big beat, alongside original compositions from producers including 3rd Coast, ND Lee, and Tsukasa.
