Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing is a motorcycle racing game developed by Criterion Games and released in 1998 for Game Boy Color, PC, and Dreamcast, featuring an official Suzuki license. The game offers two primary modes: a time trial format consisting of individual races against four to seven AI opponents, and a championship mode that strings together all 16 available courses in succession. Only two motorcycles are accessible at the outset, with additional bikes unlocked by performing well in time trial events; a portion of the time trial courses themselves are similarly locked and must be earned through play. A notable mechanical element is the wheelie maneuver, which grants a meaningful but temporary burst of acceleration when executed. The structure encourages progression through both modes, as early restrictions on vehicles and tracks give way to a fuller roster as the player advances.
