Synthetik: Legion Rising is a top-down roguelite shooter developed by Flow Fire Games, released in 2018 for PC. Players fight through procedurally varied environments against waves of machine enemies and bosses, with permanent death adding consequence to every encounter. The game's central focus is a deeply mechanical approach to gunplay: weapons require manual magazine ejection and active reloading, can jam or overheat, and feature movement-based recoil and swappable ammunition types. Headshots are implemented despite the top-down perspective. Players choose from eight distinct class specializations — including Sniper, Engineer, Heavy Gunner, and Assassin — each with unique loadouts and perks, with research and class progress carrying over between runs. Over 140 items, ranging from turrets and laser mines to mind-control gadgets and orbital lasers, enable highly varied build combinations. Difficulty can be adjusted through eleven independent modifiers, and the game supports two-player online cooperative play with shared loot and buffs.

1985. After many years of slavery, the AI servants of Kaida Corporation, the world leader in robotics, have formed the "Machine Legion" and have set out to destroy humanity. Awakening in Kaida Corp. Headquarters, you are the human consciousness of a forgotten Android prototype; the last straw holding the Legion from unleashing the Heart of Armageddon. Only you can battle through the levels of Kaida Corporation's Headquarters, defeat the battalions of enemies within and put an end to this madness.
