Tak and the Power of Juju is a 2003 platform-adventure game developed by Avalanche Software for the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2. Set among the Pupanunu people, the story follows Tak, a young apprentice voiced by Jason Marsden, who is thrust into an unlikely heroic role when the evil shaman Tlaloc weakens the Moon Juju and transforms the Pupanunu into sheep. What begins as a simple errand — gathering magical plants to reverse a spell — expands into a larger quest involving the Spirit Rattle, an artifact that lets Tak communicate with powerful Juju spirits, and a search for Moon Stones to restore the Moon Juju to full strength. Along the way, Tak collects magical Yorbels, traverses the spirit world, and ultimately wields an arsenal of Juju spells to confront Tlaloc. The game blends traditional platforming with light adventure mechanics rooted in its comedic, myth-inspired setting.
