Tearaway is a platform adventure game developed by Media Molecule, released in 2013 exclusively for PlayStation Vita. Players guide one of two papercraft messenger characters — Iota or Atoi — through a handcrafted world constructed entirely from paper and card. The narrative centers on delivering a message to the player, making the Vita hardware itself a meaningful part of the experience. The game takes advantage of the Vita's unique input features to integrate the player's physical presence into the world. Media Molecule, the studio known for LittleBigPlanet, brought a similarly craft-oriented visual style to this title, building environments and characters that appear to be assembled from cut and folded paper, giving the game a distinctive tactile aesthetic throughout its adventure.
Atoi is created from an envelope and some paper. Now she's on an adventure to reach the Face in The Sun to deliver her message! Oh, wait, she's being attacked by Scraps, and You need to help her! After you help her, she has to find hidden Scraps that are shadowing the sky. She finds a Guide that is asking Atoi to move into Wassail Orchard to reach the Sun.
