Released for Nintendo DS in 2008, Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys! is a side-scrolling adventure game that blends zombie fiction with parody of 1950s science fiction. The premise follows three teenage zombies who rise from a graveyard disrupted by an alien invasion. While humanity has already surrendered to the attacking Big Brain and his army of Brain Thingys — overwhelmed by ray-guns, mind control, and flying saucers — the undead trio proves unexpectedly resistant, driven forward by an appetite for the aliens' pulsing pink brains. The Big Brain ultimately redirects his invasion forces to confront this unlikely threat. Developed with a comic book visual style, the game presents its story through paneled sequences and dialogue boxes. Mechanically, it combines side-scrolling platforming with stylus-driven minigames, dual-screen boss encounters, and puzzle challenges that make use of the DS hardware.
