Tenchu Z is a stealth action-adventure game developed by K2 LLC, released in 2006 for Xbox 360 and the fifth major entry in the Tenchu series. Unlike its predecessors, which offered a small roster of pre-built characters, this installment allows players to create a custom ninja from scratch and develop their abilities progressively over the course of the game. Rather than taking the role of a series veteran, the player-created ninja operates under the command of Rikimaru, the franchise's established male protagonist, carrying out missions on his behalf. This shift toward character creation and skill progression gives the game a distinct structure compared to earlier entries, blending the series' signature emphasis on stealth and infiltration with a more personalized approach to character development.
