Released in 2018 by Polar Night Games for PC, Terra Feminarum is an indie vertical danmaku shoot 'em up rooted in Finnish mythology. The premise follows three powerful shamans investigating a disturbance affecting the northern lights, with their journey leading through forests and lakes toward the mystical realm of Pohjola. The game offers seven story-driven chapters playable in a Story Mode that saves character progress and includes special challenges, alongside a no-continues Arcade Mode oriented toward score runs and single-credit clears. Four difficulty levels span Novice to Brutal. Mechanically, players collect mana from defeated enemies to fuel powerful special attacks, and an enhancement system allows characters to be upgraded by defeating bosses and completing challenges. The hand-drawn 1080p artwork draws heavily from Japanese danmanu aesthetics, and the soundtrack incorporates folk-influenced compositions ranging from waltz to black metal.

The bright dancing lights of the aurora illuminates the sky of Terra Feminarum every night. However, recently the northern lights have strangely become restless and weaken. Three the most powerful shamans of the “Land of Women” are willing to investigate the matter. The road to the Pohjola shall be traveled once more.
