The Knightling is a 2025 action-adventure platformer developed by Twirlbound, released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Players control a knight-in-training whose mentor, Sir Lionstone — the renowned protector of the city of Clesseia — has vanished during a quest, leaving behind only his legendary shield. Armed solely with that shield, which contains a mysterious material called Callyrium, the Knightling must traverse multiple regions of Clesseia, confront bandits and monsters, aid citizens, and uncover the history behind both the realm and the shield's unusual power. Combat centers on defensive mechanics: blocking and parrying create openings for counterattacks and combos. Outside of combat, the shield also enables movement abilities useful for platforming and exploration. Upgrades are funded through praise earned across the world. The game follows a classic coming-of-age arc, framing the protagonist's journey as a gradual, earned path toward knighthood.
