The Last Guardian is a puzzle-platforming adventure developed by Team Ico and released in 2016 for PlayStation 4. It centers on a young boy who, in a strange and mystical land, befriends an enormous mysterious creature, and the bond between them grows into the heart of the game. The two must depend on one another to make their way through a series of towering, crumbling ruins riddled with hazards, with much of the play built around guiding and cooperating with the creature to solve environmental puzzles and overcome obstacles. The result is a deliberately paced, emotional story about friendship and trust between an unlikely pair.
