The Mark of Kri is an action-adventure game developed by SCE San Diego Studio and released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, with later availability on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Set in a dark fantasy world, the game follows Rau, a formidable warrior operating in a lawless realm overrun by barbarians and thieves. The central conflict revolves around an ancient spell, split into six fragments and scattered across the world after its original destruction proved impossible, that has been rediscovered by malevolent forces after lying dormant for a millennium. Gameplay centers on a distinctive combat system that allows Rau to engage multiple enemies simultaneously, even when surrounded. Beyond melee combat, players can eliminate enemies through stealth kills or ranged bow attacks. Rau is also accompanied by a magical bird named Kuzo, which can be used to survey the surrounding environment ahead of engagement.
