The Terminator: Future Shock is a first-person shooter developed and published by Bethesda Softworks for DOS in 1995. Set against the backdrop of Judgment Day occurring in 1995, the game moves forward to a devastated Los Angeles in 2015, where Skynet's rise to power in 1990 has left civilization in ruins and most of humanity dead. Players begin as a survivor escaping Terminator-controlled territory, eventually joining John Connor's Resistance movement. Gameplay unfolds entirely in first-person across a series of objective-based missions, each requiring the completion of multiple tasks before progression. Combat draws on a range of firearms and grenades against robotic enemies, while environmental hazards add an additional layer of challenge — many areas are lethally irradiated. Navigation varies considerably throughout, with players able to traverse levels on foot, in a jeep equipped with a mounted cannon, or by piloting an Aerial Hunter-Killer.
