Thrillville is a theme park simulator developed by Frontier Developments and released in 2006 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Players design and manage their own amusement parks, with construction tools covering roller coasters, go-kart tracks, and mini-golf courses. Beyond park management, the game incorporates a social element in which players walk through the grounds and interact directly with park guests, addressing their needs and keeping satisfaction levels high. The game also includes a substantial collection of multiplayer minigames — more than a dozen four-player activities ranging from bumper cars to arcade shoot-'em-ups — making cooperative and competitive play a central feature. Aimed at a broad age range, Thrillville combines light management and construction mechanics with hands-on park exploration, positioning itself as an accessible entry point into the simulator genre with a strong emphasis on social and party-style gameplay.
The player is left a voice message by their Uncle Mortimer, an eccentric inventor and theme park owner, who has invited them to manage his theme park Thrillville after becoming enamored by the player's roller coaster designs. As the player successfully manages the park, they are assigned new parks to oversee to compete with and fend off sabotage from Uncle Mortimer's new rival, billionaire Vernon Garrison, who has entered the theme-park market with his brand Globo-Joy.
