Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is a golf simulation developed by EA Orlando and released in 2007 across a wide range of platforms including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, Mac, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS. The game centers on the FedExCup championship format, taking players through tournament rounds at venues such as Westchester Country Club, TPC Boston, Cog Hill, and East Lake. A revised putt preview system simulates ball paths accounting for power, speed, and elevation. The newly introduced Shot Confidence mechanic tracks performance by course, club, and putt type, with strong play improving accuracy and poor results causing decreased precision, an audible heartbeat, and controller rumble. On Xbox 360 and PS3, shot input uses a three-point timing system rather than analog sticks. The Wii version offers three distinct control schemes, motion-based taunting that can affect opponents and air conditions, and an exclusive Miniputt mode.
