Released in March 2007 by Ubisoft Entertainment, TMNT is a single-player hack-and-slash action-adventure game based on the animated film of the same name. Available on Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, and PlayStation 2, the game launched three days ahead of the film itself. Players follow the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through a story that closely mirrors the events of the 2007 movie, with only minor departures from the source material. The game translates the film's narrative into a combat-driven format, putting players in control of the iconic turtle characters across a series of action-oriented stages. Originally planned for additional platforms, the Xbox and PlayStation 3 versions were ultimately canceled before release. The title represents one of several tie-in games produced around the franchise's mid-2000s theatrical revival.
