Tokoyo: The Tower of Perpetuity is a 2D action platformer and shooter developed by //commentout, released in 2020 for PC and Nintendo Switch. The game is set inside a treacherous tower whose layout is automatically regenerated by the game's servers every 24 hours, meaning players worldwide tackle the same dungeon each day before it vanishes entirely. Branching paths offer some degree of choice within each run, while traps, gimmicks, and hostile monsters shift with every new iteration. A global daily leaderboard is shared across both platforms, placing all players in direct competition regardless of their system. Social mechanics leave a mark on the experience as well — when a player dies, a gravestone bearing their final words and relics appears in other players' runs. Five original characters are available, each with distinct skills, alongside official custom characters, and players can design and apply their own character skins.
